MURDER
IN THE MARBLE ORCHARD

Homicide Sergeant Harding Knox still wrestles with the death of his wife, yet rediscovers a relationship with a former lover. Then, on an Autumn Sunday, a state court judge is murdered at his wife’s grave in a south Minneapolis cemetery. Hours later, two young Native-Americans are found brutally slain near the Mississippi River. Items of evidence link both crimes. But what possibly could be the motive, and who was behind the hits?
Events lead Knox to Mackinac Island, Michigan, and to a woman of mystery in the Black Hills of South Dakota. A person of interest, and his henchmen are identified, but Knox becomes embroiled in conflicting federal interests. An attack in a hotel, interstate theft, a drug bust gone wrong, a plane crash, and a deadly encounter with a bear lead to an unforeseen suspect, and a powerful case closure. Some things are not always as they seem.
